One of the most common neurological disorders of childhood is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). These kids affected by ADHD find it hard to pay attention to a single thing, be overly active, and do something or activities without being concerned about results.
Earlier (before 1990*), ADHD was known as ADD(attention deficit disorder), which means lack of focus. But later, it got termed as ADHD, which means a state where the person is not paying attention due to overly active or impulsive behaviour.

Different Types Of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD).
There are three types of ADHD, and each is identified according to the symptoms of the patient.
Let’s learn about its types:
- Predominantly Inattentive Presentation:
Inattentiveness in itself states that the child is either engaged in too many things or gets bored quickly. For instance: someone keeping 4-5 television open at a time and trying to focus upon all just because he finds every television attractive or gets bored while watching a single tab for long.
- Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation
In this, you would find that the child stays restless. He climbs over beds and jumps from here and there. This person feels restless and has trouble with impulsivity. The point is kids do not be able to stay at a place. They might start disturbing others by grabbing things from them or speaking at inappropriate times due to their impulses.
They can’t wait for anything. Highly impatient to stand in a long queue for their turn. A person with impulsiveness may have more accidents and injuries than others.
- Combined
Both types of ADHD are combined in this type. These symptoms may change over time as well.
What’s ADHD’s Treatment ?
Behavioural psychotherapy
For children
They are helping children to build a particular routine and making them yellow it thoroughly. This would enhance their time management and organizational skills.
For adults
The focus of behavioural psychotherapy stays to decrease distractions and increase organizational skills.
Medications
Medication is used for stimulants: to increase neurotransmitters ( such as Dopamine).ADHD medications are known to be similar to ILLICIT Medications but have vast differences.
ADHD MEDICATION
(DEXTROAMPHETAMINE) |
ILLICIT MEDICATION
(METHAMPHETAMINE) |
Releases dopamine. | Releases dopamine. |
