Module one assignment is to be a Three-part APA Paper, with
all three parts in one paper with one title page, one introductory paragraph,
your assignments, then one conclusion to sum up the paper and one list of
references (one reference for each of the cited sources in the paper). Be sure
to use APA formatting (see the APA sample paper attached to your Welcome to
Class email on the first day of class) and also use strict APA formatting for
the citations and references (see the APA tip sheet attached to your Welcome to
Class email).
Part 1: Reflect on how those experiences from the Discussion
Post impact your nursing practice now?
Part 2: Discuss what ageing biases you have witnessed
&/or perpetrated.
Part 3: Create a community education plan to address ageing
bias.
The assignment should be written in an APA-formatted essay.
The essay should be at least 1500 words in length and include at least two
scholarly sources other than provided materials.Remember also that the turn it
in plagiarism score should be no more than 25% for paper assignments, and no
more than 35% for power point assignments. If it is higher, revision and
rewording with less than two direct quotes in each assignment may be needed and
resubmission of the assignment completed before the deadline. NOTE: logs are
exempt from turn it in scoring due to they are repeatedly resubmitted with
cumulative information and the instructor is aware that the log will score an
elevated turn it in score.

Identify an older adult age 65 +, use a 1st and last
initial. Execute a therapeutic assessment interview with them for at least two
interview sessions assessing their self-identified:
Demographics, life time education and career/employment
Two most significant (positive) times in their lives
What past hardship or loss has the client successfully
negotiated in the past?
Two personal strengths
Engage them in identifying what is healthy versus
non-healthy coping skills
Inquire of 2 healthy coping skills they have used in the

Fulmer Spices, Patient stress questionnaire and the mini mental status exam (DO
NOT submit the assessments themselves-instead summarize each of the assessment
outcomes within your paper under an appropriate heading, such as Geriatric Depression
Scale Outcomes, etc.)
Discuss your older adult’s level of ego integrity versus
despair as described by psychoanalyst Erik Erikson. If you had to rate them on
a scale of 1-10, with 1 representing a full state of despair and 10
representing full ego integrity, what rating would you give your older adult?
Describe at least two nursing diagnoses for this
client.
Create a plan of care for the client to include at least
three nursing goals with two nursing interventions each.
The assignment should be written in an APA-formatted essay,
meaning that there are to be paragraphs of three or more sentences, APA style
headings, and indented paragraphs. The essay should be at least 1500 words in

Record the time you spend interviewing the client and
writing the assessment report as practice time in your Project Hour log under
geriatric assessment. It is expected to take you between two and four hours.

Module 3 Assignment
Create a power point with the intended audience to be a
community health department.
Note the required information for your power point
assignment this week. Here are some
power point tips:
Do not write a paper in the PPT – clean, organized and easy
to read bullets/graphs/diagrams should be used to get the message across
Titles on each slide are to be in all capital letters,
remaining information such as text info and references are NEVER in all capital
letters in a power point.
Citations are on EACH slide posted in the lower right corner
as (author, year) – the exception is if you use a quote or have more than
bullets for the message – than use the citation within the sentence/message –
but using quotes and full sentences is completely avoided if at all possible
for class PPTs. Citations are to be in
parentheses. I do NOT want you to
complete “speaker notes” in your power points!
Enticing background color is welcomed as well as minimal
transitions and pictures to add to the message.

Focus on a real or fictional disaster that has or could
affect your area. For example, if you live on the Florida coast you might choose
potential hurricane.
Discuss the role of the Community Health Nurse in each stage
of disaster. You should include a few slides on each stage of disaster:
preparedness, response, recovery with specific activities and resources that
the public health nurse would use in each stage.
Identify other agencies that might be involved.
The assignment should be submitted in Power Point format,
with at least 10 content slides (in addition to a title slide and reference
slide) and include at least two scholarly sources other than provided
materials.

Write a scholarly paper in which you apply the concepts of
epidemiology and nursing research to a communicable disease. Choose one
communicable disease. Be sure to read

Assignment:
In this assignment, you will develop two separate
infographics (informative posters) to discuss two separate health issues
relevant to the LGBT communities. In each infographic you will discuss:
What is the health problem
Which group(s) are most likely to be at risk
What social/behavioral/health system determinants affect
this
Identify at least two potential interventions/activities the
community, community health agency, community health nurse could offer to
prevent and or support this health issue
What resistance might be met in implementing the
intervention/activity

Infographics are to have FEW words, more pictures to tell the
story, and are to be colorful and interesting. Then create yours and be sure to
address the information that is in the classroom assignment. PLEASE NOTE: an
infographic is a colorful one page 8.5x11 paper with pictures and very few
words and there are links to help you create them in the classroom
information. NOTE: supported file types
have to be either pptx, docx, jpeg, or pdf.
If you use hubspot that is an example in the classroom assignment, you
can put www.aspen.edu and your phone
number when it asks for your url and phone number. If you submit other types of files, I cannot
open them and grade your assignment.
There are links in the top tab of the content assignment area of your
paper that will help you learn to create an infographic. You may use graphics and colors from the
internet clip art, but if they are trademarked, you must cite and reference
them. You will need at least three
sources that are scholarly. You may
submit it all in one paper with title page, the two infographics (one on each
page) and the references page, or you can submit three separate files if you
like. You will not need an intro and conclusion paragraph for this assignment
in your paper but you MUST have a title page on the references paper.

Module 7 Assignment
The final community assessment paper will be submitted in
Module 8. This week please add the hours you have spent completing the
community assessment to your Project Hours Log and submit. You should have
approximately 2-4 hours logged for the geriatric assessment from Mod 2 and now
an additional 10-14 hours for this week’s portion of the community assessment.
Only the Project Hours Log is submitted this week.

Module 8 Assignment
Your submission should be a minimum of 2000 words (maximum
2500 words) in length and should completely answer the proposed questions as
listed under “Define the community." You should have a minimum of three
(3) references.
APA formatting required and all responses should be combined
into a single document for submission. Use the rubric as a guide for the
evaluation method of the project. The practice experience project hour log,
describing the 20-30 hours (2-4 hours in Module 2, 10-14 hours in Module 7, and
8-12 hours in Module 8), must be submitted separately with your essay.
*Please note, if you hold an RN license in WA you must
submit a total project hour log documenting a minimum of 20 hours of practice
experience.
The Signature Assignment will be worth 500 points.
