Assignment 1.2: Initial Teleconference Upload

Students must arrange a joint teleconference with his or her preceptor and instructor. The student, preceptor and instructor will discuss the development of individualized practice objectives and related experiences or opportunities and appropriate activities to accomplish those objectives. Following the teleconference, the student will submit an APA style essay with a title page, introduction, level headings, and conclusion, and must include the student's name, attendees, and date/time. The essay should summarize the teleconference including status of project objectives, progress on the project, and feedback from the preceptor and instructor.

Assignment Expectations

Length: 250 - 300 words; answers must thoroughly address the questions in a clear, concise manner.

Structure: Include a title page and reference page (if needed) in APA style. These do not count towards the minimum word count for this assignment.

References: Use the appropriate APA style in-text citations and references for all resources utilized to answer the questions.

Format: Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).

Assignment 1.3: Individualized Learning Objectives Upload

Every student's practicum environment and preceptor are different; therefore, practicum objectives will vary for all students. Write 3-4 individualized practice objectives using APA format that you will achieve during the next 8 weeks.

Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

All practicum activities should be directed towards accomplishing these set goals. Remember, objectives should be measurable, able to be completed during the 8 weeks for the practicum time, and produce proof, an artifact or evidence that they were achieved.

Here are some examples to follow or modify:

Student will develop an educational activity or policy/process improvement proposal (slide presentation, brochure, bulletin board, journal article, YouTube, Review of Literature, etc.) about _______________ for presentation to _______________. (**Note: Education, Public Health, and Forensic nurses must include patients as reviewers.)

Student will create an evaluation tool (survey, pre/posttest, questionnaire, focus group questions, etc.) to gain information to improve quality of project.

Student will conduct a literature review on _____________ topic as evidenced by ____________ (infographic, annotated bibliography, resource list, etc.).

Student will create a YouTube presentation about ___________ and solicit comments from viewers.

Student will create and deliver training modules about _______ to staff or patients.
