Purpose

The purpose of this collaboration café is to reflect on course outcomes, program outcomes, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials to expand self-awareness, identify knowledge gaps, and assess learning goals.

Course Outcomes

This collaboration café enables the student to meet the following course outcomes:

CO 1: Discuss the theoretical foundations, competencies, professional organizations, and roles related to nursing informatics (POs 1, 5, 7)

CO 2: Demonstrate how current and emerging information and communication technologies are utilized to address the needs of a diverse population. (POs 3, 4)

CO 3: Explain how data from relevant technology sources informs the delivery of care and institutes change. (POs 2, 4)

CO 4: Describe evidence-based safety, quality, and decision-making support tools embedded in information and communication technologies (POs 4, 8)

CO 5: Apply ethical, legal, regulatory, and professional standards to the use of information systems and communication technologies (POs 2, 6)

Due Date

Graded collaboration cafés in Weeks 1-7 are due Sunday at 11:59 p.m. MT. For courses with Week 8 graded collaboration cafés, the collaboration café will close on Saturday at 11:59 p.m. MT. All Week 8 collaboration café requirements must be met by this deadline.

Total Points Possible

This collaboration café is worth a total of 50 points.

 Collaboration Café: Reflect on Knowledge

Step 1:  Reflect on your learning experience in this course. Answer all questions/criteria below with explanations and detail.?No scholarly sources are required.

Paragraph one: Reflect on your learning experience in this course. How do you envision using the concepts learned in this course in your future nursing practice as a baccalaureate-prepared nurse?

Paragraph two: Examine the following program outcomes. Select one and reflect on how your learning in the course assisted in helping to achieve that outcome.

PO?3: Communicates effectively with patient populations and other healthcare providers in managing the healthcare of individuals, families, aggregates and communities.

PO 5: Demonstrates responsibility for continued personal and professional development through enrollment in graduate education, continuing education degree programs, professional reading and participation in professional organizations and community service.

PO 6: Implements professional nursing standards by practicing within the legal definitions of nursing practice and acts in accordance with the nursing code of ethics and American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice.

Paragraph three: Consider your experience level with each of the American Association of College of Nursing (AACN) informatics competencies upon course completion.
