Social workers understand that assessment is an ongoing component of the dynamic and interactive process of social work practice with, and on behalf of, diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.   Social workers understand theories of human behavior and the social environment, and critically evaluate and apply this knowledge to effectively intervene with clients and constituencies and evaluate outcomes.  Assume that you have been assigned to speak with teenagers about substance abuse prevention. Develop a brochure to pass out to participants on factors that might make them more vulnerable to drug abuse recognizing the dimensions of diversity are understood as the intersectionality of multiple factors. In the brochure, include a list of at least five hereditary factors and five environmental factors that might make them more susceptible to drug abuse strategies designed to eliminate oppressive structural barriers. Then, list at least five hereditary factors and five environmental factors that would make them less susceptible to drug abuse demonstrating an understanding of the processes for translating research findings into effective practice.
