Nursing informatics specialization competencies and the role of nurses in improving patient outcomes and supporting a safe healthcare environment, through the use of information technology. Several standardized concepts are used in nursing practice, one of the examples is the Virtual learning environment (VLE). The VLE offers a collaborative platform that enables better learning delivery, which is useful for all types of schools and organizations.  It helps educators perform their jobs more efficiently and at the same time allows students and trainees to do their schoolwork from anywhere.

1.    Please discuss one of the following VLE’s and your experience with using it:

The AACN/QSEN collaborative efforts provided more detail when it identified expected competencies for master’s-prepared nurses in all six areas of QSEN focus (quality, safety, teamwork and collaboration, patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and informatics) as well as knowledge and related skills and attitudes.

Proper workflow redesign and clear calculated change strategies are of utmost importance when introducing new technologies and in ensuring their successful adoption and proper use.

Think about a patient care technology used in your organization.  Describe why strong project management skills are important in the implementation of these types of technologies.
