NURS 499 Capstone Project Progress Report

 Instructions and Formatting Template

1. The progress report is intended to serve as a journal for your project throughout the semester. It is the mechanism through which you report progress (or lack of progress!), and share information relevant to project implementation and evaluation.

2. Entries should be made every other week and no later than by Sunday night at 11:59PM.  Each entry should be as concise and substantive as possible and show the progress you are making with your project. Comment on two of your classmates reports by Thursday at 11:59PM

3. Please provide entries according to the following format to provide consistency across all reports.

a. Introduction/overview of week’s goals and accomplishments*

b. Challenges (anticipated and unanticipated) faced and strategies used to overcome challenges/barriers*

c. Utilization of coaching and/or mentoring to assist you in your work; as well as noting any coaching or mentoring you offered to those helping you carry out this project

d. Capstone Project Plan Progress: Is project progressing according to plan and timeline? Explain and amplify.

e. Leadership lessons learned

f. Outcomes achieved

g. Track clinical hours weekly / running total in your report (90 total required for course)

4. Faculty and peer review will be done every other week. Reviews and comments on others are requested from student peers no later than Wednesday at 11:59PM. This semester will allow you the opportunity to hone your peer review skill sets. Part of your grade will be on class participation, and the level and quality of your weekly peer reviews will be evaluated.

5. Each student’s progress reports will account for 30% of the course grade.

* Remember to include relevant literature supporting your implementation plan and evidence-based strategies used to overcome barriers/challenges.

Presentation on Capstone Project Implementation

Students will create a Presentation (Powerpoint, or Video, NO PDFs) for presentation on the implementation and outcomes that were achieved related to the Capstone Project. 

Peer review feedback will be a component of the presentation on Week 14.  Make sure to respond to at least 2 classmates projects.
